Diabetic Eye Care

Annual dilated exams and medical-retina expertise for patients living with diabetes — catching diabetic retinopathy before it affects your vision.

Diabetes and your eyes

Diabetes can damage the small blood vessels of the retina, a condition called diabetic retinopathy. In its early stages it has no symptoms, yet it is a leading cause of vision loss in working-age adults. The American Diabetes Association recommends a dilated eye examination every year for people with diabetes.

Dr. Toppino has cared for diabetic patients in South Lake County for more than 25 years. We coordinate closely with your primary care physician and endocrinologist so your eye findings become part of your overall diabetes management.

What we provide
